Austin Nursing Students Come Together to Help Bastrop County Emergency Food Pantry

Students from the WEN 13 group at the Career Point College Austin Campus chose to work on a Food Drive as part of their class project.

“As future nurses graduating from Career Point College we believe it is at the core belief for Nurses to uphold the leadership role in the community and give back in any way helpful to our communities.” – WEN 13 Students.

Students of WEN 13 wrote a proposal to organize and participate in a Food Drive in order to:

  • Promotes healthy citizens in our communities,
  • Promote nutritionally balanced meals for citizens in our communities,
  • Promote opportunities for nutritional education to citizens in our communities, and
  • Establish a healthy approach from Career Point College to give back to the community that is need.

WEN 13 set a goal to bring awareness to all Career Point College students about hunger in their local community.

“Giving back in any way possible to these needs shows student nurses that our leadership and role is very important to the community in all aspects. We hope the community of Bastrop County will be forever thankful to Career Point College.” – WEN 13 Students
