Career Point College School of Cosmetology Director, Andrea Green, was honored this past weekend for her years of service to the beauty industry. Andrea Green received the “Years of Service” Award at the Inaugural Crown of Glory Beauty Showcase.
Andrea has been working in the beauty industry for over 20 years, with 11 years serving in education. Her experience ranges from stylist, salon owner, project educator, and now a director in education. She dedicates herself to community involvement at various showcases in hopes of encouraging others to pursue cosmetology.
“I’ve been in the industry for 22 years, and have worn a lot of different hats from when I started to now,” Andrea said. “I’m honored to receive this award, and I also hope that this award shows my students the wonderful opportunities the cosmetology industry can provide. Being an advocate for the beauty industry has opened many doors for me and I want to show my students that there is a lateral movement in our industry that can be very beneficial.”
The Crown of Glory Beauty Showcase invites local stylists from the San Antonio community to promote their business and show their artistic work. The showcase is put on by local beauty consultant, Alicia Perry.
“Andrea is very deserving of this award,” said Alicia Perry, Crown of Glory Beauty Showcase Event Coordinator. “She has played a pivotal role in the development of many people’s career and she has helped many make big strides in the community. She is a great example of a leader.”
